Arrival at Tunis airport, assistance from our team, and transfer to the hotel for overnight accommodation.
After breakfast, we head to the Bardo Museum in Tunis, home to the most extensive collection of Roman mosaics. Next, we will explore the Medina of Tunis, where you can discover ancient monuments and traditional souks, including Kasbah Square and a panoramic visit to the Ezzitouna and Hammouda Pacha Mosques. Following this, we will visit the ruins of Carthage, including Byrsa Hill, the ancient residential quarter, the Tophet (an ancient Punic sanctuary), the Punic ports, and the Baths of Antoninus. Finally, we will move to Sidi Bou Said, a charming village of blue and white houses, where you will have free time to stroll. Return to the hotel for overnight accommodation.
After breakfast, we depart for Testour, a charming town famous for its mosque, which offers enchanting panoramic views. This mosque is a remarkable example of Islamic architecture, featuring a minaret equipped with a clock that runs counter to the usual direction. We then continue to Dougga (Thugga), an extraordinary archaeological site and UNESCO World Heritage site. Here we can admire well-preserved monuments, including the majestic theater, the capitolium, and the baths. The ruins, set in a scenic context, provide a fascinating glimpse into Roman life in North Africa, showcasing the architecture, art, and culture of the time. Next, we will head to Hammamet, where we will visit the historic seaside Medina, characterized by its majestic medieval architecture. We will conclude the day with an overnight stay in a luxury hotel.
After breakfast, we set off for Kairouan, the fourth sacred capital of Islam. Here, we will explore its ancient monuments, including the Aghlabid water basins, extraordinary hydraulic works built by the Aghlabid dynasty. We will visit the mausoleum of the Barber, known as Sidi Sahib, and the Great Mosque of Okba, the first mosque built in Tunisia. We will also have the opportunity to admire the exterior of the old Mosque of the Three Doors and wander through the charming alleys of Kairouan's Medina, rich with vibrant souks. After this fascinating visit, we will head to Tozeur, the capital of the land of palms, for an overnight stay in a luxury hotel.
A free morning to relax, where you can take advantage of the hotel’s wellness facilities or participate in an optional excursion to the mountain oases of Chebika and Tamerza, and the dunes of Ong Ejmel, famously known as a Star Wars filming location. In the afternoon, we will visit the historic center of Tozeur, characterized by its typical terracotta brick architecture. We will have the opportunity to explore the local market, where you will find a wide range of handcrafted products. At the end of the day, return to the hotel for overnight accommodation. In the evening, there will be an optional folkloric dinner in the Tozeur oasis.
After breakfast, we depart for the Tozeur oasis, where we will visit the EDEN PALM date museum, where we will have the opportunity to taste delicious date-based products. Next, we will journey to Chott El Jerid, the largest salt lake in Tunisia, which will enchant us with its surreal and breathtaking landscapes. We continue to Douz, known as "the gateway to the desert," where the magical atmosphere of the Sahara awaits us. Upon arrival in Douz, we will visit the local market, famous for artisans who make camel leather shoes. Accommodation in a luxury hotel on the edge of the desert. In the afternoon, we will set off to see the sand-enshrouded villages around Douz, with the option to experience thrilling camel rides in the desert at sunset. Return to the hotel for overnight accommodation.
After breakfast, we depart for the Dhahar mountain range, stopping in the Berber village of Tamezret, which offers stunning panoramic views. Next, we head to Matmata, a unique Berber village known for its troglodyte dwellings carved into the ground and its lunar landscape. We will visit a troglodyte home to discover underground architecture and the daily life of Berber families. We continue our journey to El Djem, where we will visit the famous Roman amphitheater, the third largest in the world, with a capacity of 35,000 spectators. We will then proceed to Hammamet, where we will spend the night in a luxury hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel, and depending on your flight schedule, transfer to the airport for your return flight. End of our services.
