Arrival at Tunis airport, assistance from our team, and transfer to the city of Hammamet. Dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, we will visit the famous Roman amphitheater of El Djem, the third largest in the world, with a capacity of 35,000 spectators. Next, we will head to Matmata, a Berber village known for its underground houses and lunar landscape. During a visit to a traditional Berber troglodyte home, we will discover its fascinating architecture and way of life. Lunch will be enjoyed in a troglodyte home with a Berber family. Afterward, we will depart for the Eastern Erg, a vast desert of fine ochre sand, where you will have the opportunity to take optional camel rides and admire the sunset over the dunes. Transfer to the tented camp, dinner, and overnight stay in tents equipped with private bathrooms. At night, you can marvel at a magnificent starry sky and identify major constellations with the naked eye.
We will start the day by watching a spectacular sunrise over the sand dunes, followed by a delicious breakfast. Then we will head to Chott El Jerid, an immense salt lake with unique landscapes. Afterward, we will travel to Tozeur, the capital of Bled El Jerid, "Land of the Palms," where we will explore the historic center and admire the beauty of the traditional architecture of houses clad in terracotta bricks. Lunch in Tozeur, followed by a 4X4 excursion to the mountain oases. We will arrive at the oasis of Chebika and take a walk through its breathtaking landscapes and natural springs. Next, we will move to the oasis of Tamerza, where we will visit the waterfalls and the ancient abandoned village, enjoying its spectacular views. Return to Tozeur for dinner and overnight stay in a hotel.
After breakfast, we will head to Kairouan, a sacred city of Islam and a significant place in Tunisian history, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Known for its rich blend of history and culture, Kairouan offers a visit to the Aghlabid basins, famous for their impressive architecture and historical significance. We will also explore the mausoleum of Abou Zoumaa Al Balaoui (Sid Sahib or the Barber) and the Great Mosque of Okba, an architectural masterpiece that reflects the city’s rich Islamic heritage. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we will immerse ourselves in the charming Medina of Kairouan, exploring its vibrant souks and picturesque narrow streets. At the end of the day, we will depart for Hammamet for dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, we will delve into the Medina of Tunis, a UNESCO World Heritage site, to explore its ancient monuments and traditional souks. We will enjoy a panoramic visit to Kasbah Square and the Ezzitouna and Hammouda Pacha Mosques, soaking in the lively atmosphere of the local markets. Next, we will head to the Bardo Museum, famous for its extensive collection of Roman mosaics. Lunch along the way. In the afternoon, we will venture into the ruins of Carthage, including Byrsa Hill and the Tophet, an ancient Punic sanctuary, as well as the old ports and the Baths of Emperor Antoninus. To conclude, we will visit Sidi Bou Said, a picturesque village known for its blue and white houses with decorated balconies. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel, and depending on your flight schedule, transfer to the airport for the return flight. End of our services.
