On the way, we take a break at El Djem city to visit the Roman amphitheater ranked 3rd worldwide with a capacity of 35000 spectators.

After that, drive to Matmata, an amazing Berber village of unique beauty known for its cave-dwelling houses and the impressive lunar landscape.

We will visit an inhabited Berber troglodyte house to discover the ancient troglodyte architecture and the daily life of Berber women.

You will be delighted to discover the hospitality of Berber families.

You will enjoy the delicious bread prepared in a traditional oven and served with organic honey and extra virgin Olive oil.

After that, you will savor a traditional meal in a troglodyte restaurant.

In the afternoon, we cross the Dhahar massif with its amazing landscapes towards Ksar Ghilane, a wonderful Saharan oasis situated at the edge of the Grand Erg Oriental, a huge sandy desert in southeast Tunisia.

Once we arrive you could stroll around in the oasis or enjoy a refreshing swim in the natural spring of sulfurous water.

Then, transfer in 4×4 vehicle to Zmela Saharan Camp at the gates of the Great Erg Oriental with its beautiful giant dunes of ocher sand.

Once we arrive, you will enjoy stepping on the high dunes to admire one of the most beautiful sunsets on the planet.

Delicious dinner of local gastronomy and overnight in a tent at the Desert Camp (equipped with WC and Showers.

Don’t miss the spectacular sky with millions of stars.

DAY 2:THE BERBERS AND CAVE DWELLERS

Wake up early in the morning to witness the spectacular rose-pink light of dawn on the dunes of ocher sand.

It is an amazing landscape that you don’t experience every day.

After a delicious breakfast, you can do some optional leisure activities in the Desert such as camel ride or quad bike (optional).

Afterward, we go back to the Dhahar massif and visit Tamezret, a superb Berber Crest village among the very rare villages still inhabited in south Tunisia.

It is built on a hill at the top of which we find an old mosque and a Moorish cafe where the old people of the village play cards and domino.

We will visit the small traditional museum of Berber dresses in Tamezret made from woven wool and embroidered by the women from the village using Berber decorative motifs.

And then, you will enjoy a tasty lunch of local Berber Cuisine.

After lunch, we drive back to Matmata and visit Sidi Driss troglodyte hotel. It was used as a set location of the famous Star Wars movie.

Finally, we go back to Sousse or Hammamet, drop off in your selected hotel.
